Principal
This is my third year teaching in the Huntsville School District. My first year here, I taught 5th-grade math at the intermediate school. The following year, I was fortunate enough to move up to assistant principal at the middle school. Then, this year, I was able to move into the principal position.
My teaching career before coming to Huntsville involved being a teacher and a coach. I have taught Math, Science, Health, P.E., and Outdoor Education. I have also been a head junior high football and head wrestling coach.
Before getting into the field of education, I worked as an electrician and was able to earn my journeyman’s license for that. My experiences in construction work taught me a lot about building relationships with different types of people. It also helped me learn to be a leader as I had to manage several jobs.
Both of my work experiences have helped me grow tremendously as a person. I want to take what I’ve learned and help students be successful at whatever they choose to do.
I got married to Megan Trinkle Ferguson in 2005. We have had 3 wonderful children together. They all go to school here at Huntsville. Our oldest daughter Makaya is 12 years old and going into the 7th grade, our middle son Crue is 9 years old and going into 4th grade, and our youngest daughter Zoey is 5 years old and going into Kindergarten this year. We have also been fortunate enough to adopt 2 boys. We have Seth who is 13 years old and going into 8th grade and Shay who is 9 years old and going into 3rd grade. To say our household is a little crazy at times might be a big understatement. We love every minute of it though!
When I’m not working at the school, I love to go fishing. I mostly bass fish on Beaver Lake and Table Rock Lake. I also enjoy canoeing, camping, and hunting. My favorite sports are football, wrestling, and baseball.
