Grasping Phenomenal Science- Pre-AP Certification
I started teaching at Huntsville in August 1996 in the 6th grade as a science teacher. I have been with Huntsville since 1996 and taught 6th grade for 13 years. This year I am moving to 7th grade to teach science. I am looking forward to it and excited!
I taught pre-school for eight years before deciding to become a teacher, specifically a middle school teacher. Teaching pre-school gave me my first glimpse of what teaching was about, and it gave me the desire for teaching and the love to see children learn.
My husband and I have been married for 28 years. We have three children- all attended and graduated from Huntsville. Clint attended UTI in Houston and is one of the foreman at Kenworth in Springdale, and Bridget has her Doctorate Degree and is a Physical Therapist in Richmond, Virginia. Levi lives in Huntsville andis still trying to figure out what career path to go down. After losing two family dogs to old age last year (one belonged to my dad and the other we adopted 15 years ago), we found an adorable puppy to bring home. She is a registered black labrador named Izzy. She is now 6 months old and very energetic! We recently adopted a momma cat and her kitten, so now we have one dog, one cat, and one kitten.
I love spending time in the outdoors; camping, hiking, kayaking, and swimming. I am a huge reader! My husband and I both are fishing enthusiasts and enoy spending time together in the boat on the lake. We usually go camping with family and friends over the summer. We have 65 acres of mostly wooded land, which keeps us extremely busy taking care of it. We like to hike on it, ride the four wheelers through it, and we enjoy hunting some. I love watching the small fawns run around playing. Izzy just likes to bark at them. The squirrels drive her crazy; she doesn’t know what to think about those squirrels.
